“We attended the Da Nang Home Cooking Class and if I could rate this tour with more stars, I really would. Our guide, Katie, picked us up at our hotel and brought us for some Vietnamese coffee. She then took us to the Hanh Market to shop for some of the ingredients we needed before heading to her cousins’ home to start cooking. In the process, we got to know her cousins and her aunt who were extremely welcoming to their home. They showed us around and were open to sharing the lifestyle they lead.
Katie was amazing at introducing the dishes to us and giving us alternatives should we not find certain ingredients back home. Throughout the day, she was informative at every opportunity and we got to see and experience so much because of her! When the cooking was done, we all ate together, family style.
This class was an awesome way to start our trip and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves to cook or simply wants to know more about local cuisine”

“I have travelled all over Asia and have taken many cooking classes in each place. This cooking class was incredible. We started out the morning by going to a local market. Then on to a local coffee shop to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee and get to discuss about local living. After that, we took a trip to the local garden and helped water and plant vegetables. Met the sweetest and happiest gardener Sandy who was so excited to have us there! This was a highlight as I have seen them working in the garden everyday prior to having this experience. Next, we went to a local house and it was time for cooking. We got to explore the entire house to see how this family lived, hang out on their top floor (outside) and lay in their hammock and talk for a bit to get to know each.
We made a ton of food: BahnXeo, Spring Rolls, and Papaya Salad. Then ate family style around the table in their kitchen. Everyone was so friendly and a lot of fun. I recommend this to everyone who wants to explore a part of Da Nang culture”
